By enrolling in the Play-by-Play Boot Camp, you will receive ONE-ON-ONE PERSONAL COACHING via Zoom from Glenn Geffner, who possesses the unique combination of being not only a veteran of more than three decades in the industry but also an experienced university instructor.
Your personalized program, offered on a flexible schedule that accommodates YOU, will be tailored specifically to where you are in your broadcasting journey, whether you're just starting out as a high school or college student or are a young professional, who already has a foot in the door but is looking to advance your career.
Your enrollment in Glenn Geffner's Play-by-Play Boot Camp includes:
AN INTRODUCTORY ZOOM MEETING (approximately 30-60 minutes)
You and Glenn will get to know each other and discuss your personal goals and aspirations, setting the course for your personalized program.
WORKSHOPS (approximately 60 minutes each)
Three one-on-one Zoom workshops during which Glenn walks you through the fundamentals of play-by-play, which serve as the foundation for calling games on radio or television for any sport. We’ll discuss the responsibilities of a play-by-play broadcaster, game preparation and specific techniques required to describe the action. We'll talk about game opens, conducting interviews, putting together a reel and applying for jobs.
YOU MAKE THE CALL
You will have the opportunity to complete three play-by-play assignments, each of which will be thoroughly evaluated and critiqued by Glenn in order to help you grow and develop your skills from one assignment to the next.
WANT TO WORK OVERTIME?
Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to enroll, for an additional fee, in OVERTIME through which Glenn will remain available to work with you to the extent you desire for a full year. If you're calling games as a student or professionally, he will be available to evaluate your work during that time. If you're pursuing job opportunities, Glenn will consult with you regarding your resume, cover letters and reels as well as interview techniques and strategies.
